The Patrol Division is under the direction of Commander Mark E. Foisie, and is the largest division within the department. These uniformed officers are the most visible representatives of city government, and provide a wide variety of services to the citizens of San Pablo. The men and women of the Patrol Division include twenty-five police officers and two canine (K-9)officers assigned to Patrol. They are divided into five squads each supervised by a sergeant.

The Patrol Division provides service to the community seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Working in the Patrol Division requires a variety of skills. Although the primary function of the Patrol Division is to prevent crime and apprehend criminals, patrol officers must also be versed in civil and criminal law, traffic accident investigation and enforcement, and crisis intervention techniques. While patrol officers are the first responders to most incidents, they are also required to complete many complex investigations. Patrol officers receive extensive ongoing training in a variety of subjects throughout their careers. This training combined with the use of state of the art technology, enables our patrol officers to provide the best possible police service to the Citizens of San Pablo.

Patrol Sergeants provide training and supervision for patrol officers and oversee all patrol operations. They take command of critical incidents and crime scenes, and ensure that the Patrol Division is operating efficiently. You may contact the Patrol Division Commander at (510)215-3130, or you may contact the on-duty Watch Commander at (510) 215-3171.
